Heading in the Right Direction?, Issue #009 May 31, 2025 |
June 1Christine screamed, "You could have been killed!" She threw her arms around me and mumbled, "I could have lost my husband." "You are hugging a very alive husband," I replied. I was driving, and she had been sitting behind me in the Nissan. Two friends sat next to us. As a truck flew by, a rock hurled itself straight into our windshield. Glass shards flew over our shoulders through the middle of the car.
Low, at head level.
Only a thin layer of glass kept the windshield intact. The cracks widened as we drove the rest of the way home. As I sat in the driver's seat looking at the hole, I realized that the angle of trajectory had saved my life. Another 15% and my head would have taken the full impact of those mini rockets.
OUTREACH: Got invited to drink a beer with a neighbor. Everyone was shocked that he invited me into his home. I'm not intimidated by his insults, and I think he respects me for it. Pray for our conversations and his heart. BIBLE STUDY PARTY. Sixteen showed up. Our living room was packed. Lots of food and the Gospel of Mark 12:35-13:13. GARDENING in Western Montana. Grasshopper killing season has arrived. I won't put up a photo. When I'm killing them, I look uglier than a grasshopper. BLOG on ABORTION! The Bible, Church Father, Roman Empire, Worldviews. After discovering that I was using a corrupted Word document and an undersized cover photo, and receiving the help from a friend to remedy those problems, I finally published a book: "Freedom to Choose."
